BMW Unveils 2021 F750GS/F850GS With New Colors and Equipment

BMW GS F-Series gets expanded equipment, 40th anniversary livery & more!

Published on 07.17.2020

For model year 2021 BMW has announced new editions of the F750GS, F850GS and the F850GS Adventure. All three models receive new livery, including a “40 years GS Edition” to celebrate the GS legacy started in 1980. The German marque is also boosting all three model packages with expanded standard equipment and new optional equipment.

The Special Edition models celebrate the 40th anniversary of the GS line with livery inspired by the iconic R100GS bumblebee colors. Each model features its own version of the yellow, black and gray color-scheme, complete with dedicated anniversary badging, a galvanized radiator cowl and black matte (F750GS) or gold rims (F850GS/Adventure).

General changes to the F-series models include new LED flashing turn indicators as standard and a USB charging device at the front right of the cockpit. ABS Pro and DTC (Dynamic Traction Control) are now also standard, for even more braking and accelerating safety.

All three mid-range models feature new components of the Pro riding modes optional equipment. Thus, as in the GS models with boxer engines, a reworked throttle response in DYNAMIC riding mode now ensures even more dynamics and driving enjoyment. Furthermore, dynamic engine brake control and Dynamic Brake Control (DBC) now feature Pro riding modes. Other new Pro riding mode features include the preselection of up to four riding modes for the button assignment on the right handlebar controls (though only in conjunction with the Connectivity optional equipment in the BMW F750GS).

BMW is also adding an extra low seat as well as modified lowered suspension as optional equipment for all three models, ensuring even better ground accessibility when stationary. However, the German marque hasn’t provided official specs for these new options.

Original BMW Motorrad Accessories now supply a holder for the BMW F850GS and BMW F850GS Adventure for mounting the BMW Motorrad Navigator above the standard TFT display. This holder was previously reserved exclusively for GS trophy machines and deployment vehicles.

Since completely switching off the ABS will no longer be permissible under legal homologation regulations in the future, the Enduro and Enduro Pro riding modes provide suitably adapted controls for this purpose. The ABS function can still be switched off on the rear wheel in Enduro Pro riding mode (BMW F850GS and BMW F850GS Adventure only).

As before, all F-series models will be equipped with the liquid-cooled, 853cc engine pumping out 77 hp in the F750GS and 95 hp in the F850GS/Adventure models.

BMW expects all new models to hit dealer floors in September. No official pricing has been released yet.
