KTM Releases Specs And Availability Of 1390 Super Adventure S EVO
The Austrian brand takes the cover off their most advanced Adventure bike yet.
A few months after racing a prototype version at Erzbergrodeo, KTM has finally dropped the cover on the production-ready 1390 Super Adventure S EVO. Set to debut as a 2025 model, the new machine stands as the Austrian brand’s most powerful and advanced Super Adventure to date.
Kicking off the changes, the new machine now boasts an increased engine displacement from 1,300 cc to 1,350 cc, pumping out 170.6 horsepower and 107.6 lbs-ft of torque. This comes courtesy of reworked engine components and all-new Camshift technology, which provides improved rideability in low rpm range, higher peak performance, low emissions, and fuel consumption. At higher revs, the inlet cams shift sideways, opening the valves longer and higher to flood the cylinder with gas, unleashing maximum performance. In the lower rev range, the inlet cams dial back the valve timing and lift, optimizing rideability. This dual approach delivers a powerful boost in performance, whether you’re navigating city streets or tearing up fast roads.
According to KTM, several revisions and updates were also made to provide increased engine durability and easier servicing. This has led to extended service intervals, and a valve clearance after 60,000 km, compared to the previous KTM 1290 Super Adventure’s 30,000 km check-up.
The next-gen 1390 Super Adventure S EVO also features some chassis updates including reworked frame stiffness, improving handling and track stability, with 8 mm lower and 10 mm wider footpeg positioning designed for more comfort with a wider knee angle.
For bump absorption the new machine is fitted with the latest generation WP Semi-Active Technology. Compared to the previous generation, the SAT has been tuned to be more precise with consistent damping behavior at higher frequencies. This was achieved using new PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) sensors and a new through-rod fork construction that combines design borrowed from Open Cartridge and Closed Cartridge suspension elements.
Braking has also been improved with a new Brembo front master cylinder and upgraded brake pads that KTM says deliver a sharper bite when pulling the front brake lever.
A first for KTM and exclusive to the KTM 1390 Super Adventure S EVO, is the all-new Automated Manual Transmission (AMT) we’ve previously reported on. In a nutshell, the AMT allows the rider to choose between a traditional manual shifting, by way of the foot lever or bar-mounted paddles, or a completely twist-and-go automated transmission. Unlike traditional motorcycle gearbox setups, the AMT features a P – N – 1 – 2 – 3 – 4 – 5 – 6 gear sequence, with P denoting PARK to prevent any unwanted rolling thanks to a locking pawl within the gearbox.
KTM is also taking their radar-assist tech to the next-level, with the bike debuting the Austrian brand’s latest Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), which adds Brake Assistance, Collision Warning, and Distance Warning to its arsenal. The new ACC system, combined with AMT, features ACC Stop & Go. When activated, this system will bring the motorcycle to a complete stop if the vehicle ahead comes to a hold. Once the vehicle moves, the motorcycle will automatically resume its motion.
All the above comes courtesy of a more compact, 5th-generation front radar sensor made by Bosch, and fitted as standard on the new machine. This features performance optimization, improved truck detection, a higher maximum speed, and updated cancellation thresholds, with Dynamic, Street, and Group Ride functionality.
The Super Adventure S EVO also receives KTM’s new premium touchscreen, portrait-mount V80 TFT dashboard. The 1280×720 resolution 8” Touchscreen features inductive technology, allowing easy operation even when wearing thick winter gloves, while an innovative anti-reflex, anti-fingerprint and anti-glare coating improves overall readability. Plus with a massive jump from 65,000 to 256,000 Colors, the display is able to maintain greater detail in all lighting conditions.
Styling and ergonomics have also been updated for 2025, with new bodywork and seat design, all-new LED headlight, new windshields, and storage compartment, to mention a few. New radiator fans were developed to better cool the engine and provide less heat for the rider on hot summer days. A new onboard tool kit with a wider selection of tools is now also included, packed in a compact toolbox located in the seat base.
As you may expect, America will have to wait a bit longer for the KTM 1390 Super Adventure S EVO. The new bike will hit international dealers in early 2025, reaching North America a year later as a 2026 model. Pricing is yet to be announced.

In regards to “ACC Stop & Go”; A motorcycle that resumes forward movement on its own (especially one this powerful) sounds absolutely terrifying
unless you live on hills
