Beta Announces Record-Breaking US Sales Despite Turbulent Times

The Italian brand is expanding its dealer network and gaining loyal fans in America.

Published on 05.28.2025

Beta Motorcycles has reached a new milestone, reporting record-breaking sales growth in the U.S. market. Between 2018 and 2024, the Italian brand saw a strong 180% increase in sales, with an additional 10% growth projected from 2024 to 2025. This success comes at a time when other major manufacturers, such as KTM and Harley-Davidson, have faced financial challenges, making Beta’s continued expansion a bright spot in the motorcycle industry.

Beta’s success mirrors recent record-breaking sales from other manufacturers, including BMW Motorrad and Triumph. BMW reported its highest-ever motorcycle sales, with the GS lineup leading the charge. Meanwhile, Triumph surpassed 100,000 units sold for the first time in its history, fueled by the success of its sub-500cc models.

Why are riders flocking to Beta? Beta USA President Tim Pilg attributes this success to a combination of factors: “I feel there are many reasons for this growth, it starts with our engineers developing the motorcycles, to our dealers that have grown their dealership with our brand, and also to the customers who continue to purchase new Beta’s and at the same time, tell their friends about us. I am also very proud of our Beta USA staff as each one of them has a unique talent that they bring to the company, providing a level of support to all Beta riders that I feel is unmatched!”

There are several reasons for the rise in popularity but one key factor we regularly hear from riders is the high performance of their dual sport models. Bikes like the 350 RS, 390 RS, 430 RS, and 500 RS are known for producing a lot of power compared to the competition. Riders often praise their reliability and durable construction as well.

The Beta 390 RS Special Edition is their 50-state legal dual sport featuring KYB suspension and other performance add-ons, retailing at $12,299 for a 2024 model.

Something Beta offers that is unique in the industry is their Build Your Own Beta (BYOB) program. This initiative allows riders to customize their motorcycles with aftermarket parts from top brands (e.g. Dubya Wheels, FMF Exhaust, Rekluse Clutch, IMS Fuel Tanks, Trail Tech GPS) before delivery, saving time and money on modifications. For those who are already planning on adding a larger fuel tank, performance exhaust, upgraded suspension, GPS, and more, you can pick and choose the upgrades you want and have Beta install it for you. You also save 15% on accessories to help compensate for the take-off stock components.

A strong dealer network and high resale value are additional components to Beta’s success. Despite increased competition, the brand continues to strengthen its presence by expanding its dealer network — now up to 200 dealers nation-wide. “We want to keep a good balance of dealers in each market area where they are not fighting for sales but rather focusing on being profitable so they can provide the Beta owner with a higher level of dealer service,” Pilg explained. “We do however still have many ‘holes’ in the states, so we want to fill those.”

Looking towards the future, Beta is also expanding into new categories with the recent announcement of two new budget-friendly dual-sport models, the Alp 4.0 and Alp X, which will soon be available in the U.S. market. The Alp 4.0 is designed for casual off-road rides, while the Alp X offers a more street-oriented experience, catering to riders looking for a versatile dual sport or lightweight adventure bike.

It’s great to see there are companies still thriving amid recent industry shakeups. We expect even more success from Beta in the coming years as they continue to expand their presence in the U.S. offering innovative, customizable, high-performance motorcycles to a growing pool of loyal fans.
