Hertz Brings Adventure Touring & Bike Rental Program to the US
Riders can now get rentals & tours in popular US destinations with Hertz Ride.
Popular rental car company Hertz, has announced the launch of its Adventure Touring program in the United States. ‘Hertz Ride’, a motorcycle tour and rental service, just launched in the US in late September 2019, beginning in what were identified as popular tourism destinations on the West Coast: Las Vegas, Nevada and greater Los Angeles (Riverside), California. Hertz has also announced Miami, Florida on the East coast as an upcoming location.
Each Hertz Ride location will feature REV’IT! riding apparel and NEXX Helmets available for rent to make consumers’ travel as seamless as possible, while still providing a high level of protection. Any products the traveler wishes to purchase at the end of the trip can be drop shipped directly to his or her home address.
Hertz Ride delivers a premium service for moto touring enthusiasts through a diversified international catalog of experiences, from motorcycle rentals to guided and self-guided tours using a state-of-the-art motorcycle fleet. The service is also currently available in six European countries —Portugal, Spain, France, Italy, Austria and Slovenia.
Currently, the global program offers riders a selection of BMW motorcycles including the adventure bike GS line. For now, the Adventure models available in the US are the BMW F750GS and BMW R1250GS. The starting price is $110/day for 1-3 days rentals of the BMW F750GS in the low season, with the price dropping to $79/day for rentals of 21 days or more (* Low season: 1 Nov – 28 Feb / High season: 1 Mar – 31 Oct).
Duarte Guedes, Hertz Ride Board Member, said, “It is with great enthusiasm that we are now officially opening our operations in Las Vegas and Riverside California, offering our top products to those who, like us, seek dream adventures on two wheels. Bringing Hertz Ride to the United States has always been our ambition, so we will work hard to offer our customers a quality service that differentiates us from our competitors.”

A quick check of a rental says your Las Vegas rates are not as stated above for a December 3-day rental. $110/day for the 750GS… and thats the lowest rate of all bikes.
Thanks for calling out the discrepancy. Those are the rates Hertz had directly supplied but we can see the website has slightly different rates. Although $110/day is not the lowest rate – their website shows it is $79/day for a 21+ day rental during the low season. Cheers!
Can you go off-road?
Hey Jan, we reached out to Hertz and this is what they said:
“According to Hertz Ride general terms and conditions bikes are not allowed to be ridden on unpaved roads, for Sports Events or Track Days. We understand that in some destinations there are regional or local roads that are dirt or gravel roads. Therefore, bikes are allowed as long as roads are marked on maps and numbered as public roads.”
“ allowed as long as roads are marked on maps and numbered as public roads.”. That’s pretty accommodating for off-road adventure, at least here in Colorado. As far as I understand, that’ll get you down any of the BDRs as well. Now, we just need to convince Hertz to put some knobbies on some of the bikes!
Hard to believe you cant rent a bike by LAX airport. I often use Motoquest to rent a bike to see family out there. I was excited about this. I hope they expand.
Rob we have a location at LAX now!
[…] don’t forget they’ve been renting motorcycles in Europe for a while. That program is now coming to the USA, and it could be an interesting – if expensive – way to check out a number of BMW […]
That’s great I will definitely check it out when I come to visit my son. I usually rent a bike when out there. Thanks for the reply
Hope to see you soon Robert!
