New Connector Routes Offer Riders Rugged Way To Link Different BDRs
An adventurous bridge from one BDR to another.

With the release of the South East route just a month away, Backcountry Discovery Routes (BDR) is wasting no time announcing the launch of nine new Connector Routes, designed to offer BDR riders a more continuous adventure riding network.
Adding to their library of 20 routes, these connectors extend your journey by offering a rugged way to link BDRs. As such, connectors provide an adventurous bridge from the beginning or end of one BDR to another, prioritizing off-highway terrain over tarmac.

The new Connector Routes vary in length from 24 miles to as long as 346 miles. “These routes are designed to enhance the adventure, allowing you to travel continuously through remote backcountry roads,” explains BDR. The new connectors include:
- CABDR-North to ORBDR (161 miles): Connects the northern end of CABDR-North in Lakeview, OR to the southern start of ORBDR in Denion Junction, NV.
- CABDR-South to CABDR-North ( 66-miles): Connects the north end of the SoCal BDR in Benton Hot Springs to the start of the NorCal BDR in Mammoth Lakes on a collection of dirt and moderately sandy roads.
- COBDR to UTBDR (101 miles): Connects the south end of the Colorado BDR at Four Corners to the south end of the Utah BDR at Monument Valley.
- COBDR to WYBDR (27.4 miles): Uses county roads in Colorado to get riders from the remote northern end of the Colorado BDR to the southern starting point of the Wyoming BDR in Baggs.
- MABDR to NEBDR (142 miles): This long-awaited connector bridges the gap between the north end of the Mid-Atlantic BDR at Lawrenceville, PA and the southern start of Northeast BDR at Hancock, NY.
- NMBDR to COBDR (253 miles) Starts in Antonito CO where the NMBDR ends and meanders through southern Colorado on the way to the start of the COBDR at Four Corners.
- ORBDR to IDBDR and NVBDR (346 miles): This rugged route gets riders from Denio Junction, NV at the south end of the Oregon BDR to Jarbidge, NV which is the northern endpoint for the Nevada BDR and the southern endpoint for the Idaho BDR.
- ORBDR to WABDR (34 miles): Connects the north end of the Oregon BDR in Hood River, OR to the southern end of Washington BDR at Bridge of the Gods near Stevenson WA.
- UTBDR to IDBDR and NVBDR (336 miles): Starts at the northern end of the Utah BDR in Garden City, UT and traverses across southern Idaho to connect to Jarbidge, NV where the IDBDR and NVBDR join together.

Ready to connect the dots? BDR has just released the GPX tracks for all nine new Connector Routes, available for download at ridebdr.com.

Pretty cool. I wonder who’s going to be the first to ride the NM-CO-UT-NV-ID-OR-CA BDR’s in one connected route/loop. Maybe when RTW Paul get’s back from Ushuaia.
