Product Spotlight: Giant Loop Zigzag Handlebar Bag

Convenient storage that doesn't get in the way of performance riding.

Published on 04.18.2014

Tank bags offer a lot of convenience for storing items you want easy access to. But if you enjoy performance riding, either off-road or on twisty pavement, a tank bag can obstruct your body movements. Even smaller tank bags seem to get in the way and can give you a scare if you loose balance. For many riders, tank bags are just too cumbersome to bother with.

Most Dual Sport and Adventure Motorcycles don’t have a place to put small items you need to keep at your fingertips. Those small items like keys, sunglasses, lip balm, wallet, phone, insurance and registration cards. If you store them in your jacket, it can get uncomfortable on longer rides. You need accessible storage that doesn’t hinder your body movement.

Giant Loop Zigzag Handlebar Bag Attachment

The Giant Loop Zigzag Handlebar Bag fits on nearly any handlebar.

The Giant Loop company is known for it’s compact light-weight softbags for Dual Sport motorcycles. Their products appeal to riders with a pack light, bring only what you need philosophy. One of their most unique products is the Zigzag Handlebar Bag. This small storage bag attaches securely to the handlebars with big Velcro straps. It’s adjustable enough to fit on nearly any bike with a handlebar (with or without a cross-bar) and you can quickly remove the entire bag when you park your bike.

With 1.5 liters of storage, the Giant Loop Zigzag Handlebar Bag is just the right size to fit the small items you need quick access to. A storage location to keep essential items organized and in a single place. With the adjustable Velcro straps, the bag contours to the shape of your handlebars and won’t flop around. You can also attach the Zigzag Handlebar Bag to other locations like your bike’s frame tubes or attach it to your belt to make a rugged looking fanny pack.

The Zigzag Handlebar Bag is a bit pricey for a small bag, but it’s made of super tough trucker’s tarp Bomb Shell™ and ballistic nylon. The bag is made with military-spec materials and construction and has a limited lifetime warranty. However the bag is not waterproof, so sensitive electronics should be stored elsewhere if you are riding in heavy rains or through deep river crossings.
