Suzuki Announces Pricing and Pre-Order Offer For New DR-Z4S
The venerable DRZ gets a bump in price to go with its long list of 2025 upgrades.

Three months after dropping the news of a next-gen DR-Z4S for 2025 to replace the aging DR-Z400S, Suzuki has announced they have opened pre-orders for the much-anticipated machine. The new model was unveiled at EICMA, but aside from a launch date being kept under wraps, the Japanese brand also withheld its price. Suzuki USA has now released that other missing detail, revealing an MSRP of $8,999.

An increase from last year’s price of $7,199 for the DR-Z400S seemed inevitable given the numerous updates to the model which include a redesigned 398cc powerplant with fuel injection, a Ride-by-Wire Electronic Throttle System, ride modes, new suspension, a revised fuel tank, an overhauled frame, revised ergos, a new LCD instrument panel, and more.
However, whether riders will embrace the fact that the venerable DR-Z is now priced at $9,000 remains to be seen, especially with competitors offering more affordable options like the new KTM 390 Enduro R, which will hit dealer floors at $5,499, or the KLX 300, announced with an MSRP of $5,449 for 2025.

To entice riders, Suzuki has announced a special offer to all customers who commit to a 2025 DR-Z4S before March 31st, 2025. Anyone placing a reservation with an authorized Suzuki dealer during the program will receive priority delivery on their DR-Z in April, as well as a special Genuine Suzuki Accessory package valued at over $450.

The supermoto DR-Z4SM, priced also at $8,999 carries a similar offer for those who take advantage of the early-reservation, with priority delivery in May and a package that includes:

I was excited till I saw the price.. that price will help sell a lot of Kove 450s
More suspension, less weight, less HP and more $$$ than the KTM 390. I guess I am still a 450cc + kind of guy.
Too expensive now despite upgrades. As with my DR650, I’ll wait a few years to get a clean used one for many thousands less.
Who came up with that prize? Crazy
If Suzuki had upgraded to a 6spd or at least wide ratio 5speed, 3+ gallon tank and comfy touring seat they would been seen as a premium product & not be getting the price pushback. Suzuki spent time asking users what they wanted to see in the update and choose to no implement any of those. It’s still a great update and will sell well enough.
Anyone care to place a bet? Will the pricing question campaign going on in social media and web forums have any effect with Suzuki? Every Facebook post about this bike from any where in the world seems to be filed with the price is wrong / too high. Web forums posts about this bike are also filed with too much $ for what you get. Will Suzuki change course or stay dug in with price? Is there any past example where they changed price after feedback. How the sell or not is the ultimate litmus test in the end, consumers vote with their money.
Let’s see, bikes I would rather buy than this dinosaur – Kove 450, KTM 390 adv or enduro, cfmoto ibex 450. Hell, I’d rather buy a used T7 or 690 rather than this bike. This bike might be competitive at $7k. Might.
I bought my 04 as a leftover in 05 for $100 over cost. Suzuki will soon see sales drop and will offer incentives. Street price should be closer to $7500z they are already giving away the goody bag with pre-orders. Really needed that 6th gear- BADLY
